The Uncanny Valley of Scale

ig companies act like big companies. We don’t take them seriously when they say they care, because there is no “they.” When they send a holiday card or an email, we don’t really think it was from a person we could connect with.

Individuals act like individuals. When they write us a note or show up in person, we know that we’re dealing with a human.

In between, though, problems arise.

Did your friend really write that tweet, or did the staff do it?

That email that you just got, BCC… when you hit reply, will it go.

3-2-1: Outsmarting Yourself, Staying Adaptable, and Choosing More Empowering Self-talk

“The mind is alive when it is flexible and adaptable. It can be updated, take new form, endure change.

The mind is dead when it is fixed and immovable. It cannot absorb new ideas or thoughts. It is stiff and brittle.

When we lose our ability to adapt, to move with the environment, to tolerate new beliefs and reshape our old ones, our mind is at risk of becoming outdated. The fixed mind becomes a relic.”

The Newspaper Thrower

Every job we do in life can be performed on a range from sloppy to excellent. I was taught by my father and my mentors to strive for the excellent end of the scale. While this is sometimes a source of frustration for those who work with me (“Is he ever going to finish this thing?”), I believe this obsession with getting things right has served me well. When I see a person, or for that matter an animal, tree, or any aspect of nature, expressing its…

Strong enquiries are being seen by the switched-on groups according to the franchise community that I hear from.

Whether this is simply due to COVID or wider market realisations and acceptance that franchising is the answer to people wanting to step out and own their own business I don’t know – it doesn’t matter.
What does matter, however, is that the whole business scene has altered immensely in recent months.

The fact is.

Businesses who invest in franchising as a road to their own growth, and do it properly, embracing the new technologies, are going to leave their competitors for the dead.

Give me a call on 0417 211 366 and we can have a confidential chat – you may be surprised how simple and effective franchising your business can be…

I hope you enjoyed this.
