Module 1 – Develop your franchise foundation
This is the foundation module where you build the framework for your new franchised business.
You review the brand to see if it is still ontrack to meeting your ideal client’s desires and check that your marketing is still current – especially as we move more deeply into a digital age.
You restructure your business into a franchised model where your new business partners bring in the money and you support them to become as successful as they can be.
You start to build the systems and operations which will keep everyone performing at their best so each service or product is delivered the same, successful way each time.
Module 2 – Define the money and systems
This is the ‘money module’, the time when we work out where your cash is being generated and where it’s flowing to. You’ll start planning your budgets, working out potential franchise fees and considering territory options. You’ll also develop the support and communication systems you need to make sure your franchisees are happy and profitable, so they can keep delivering income to you.
Clear, relevant and comprehensive documentation keeps a franchised business performing and on track.
Module 3 – Design your new franchisor and franchisee businesses
This is where you create the documentation which is the basis of the way you and your franchise partners run the group. Your legal agreement, disclosure document and other legal documents form the legal foundation.
Your operations manuals are completed to include the rules which manage the way everyone conducts business your way.
Module 4 – Deploy your franchise business and recruit your franchisees
Finally, in this module you will prepare recruitment and marketing plans, recruit your first set of new franchisees and carry out franchisee induction. You will build your franchised business into the future.

We started our journey with Franchise Simply for two reasons. One was to simplify and systemize our business with a view to expansion through franchising.

Since then, we signed on our second franchisee this month and we have the third one in the pipeline. You don’t feel like you don’t know what you are doing. Business is a journey and everyone is on that journey to success. Each part of that jigsaw puzzle has been worth investigating. We have grown 100% this year. So from 12 months last August when we to the Melbourne Franchise Expo it was just a dream, it didn’t have any legs and then we went to the two day Workshop where we decided to sign up to one of the programs.
We were 80% there but we realised how much we hadn’t done and so we started the process.

I was lucky to come across Brian K from Franchise Simply at a Franchise Expo here in Sydney about three years ago now.
I was looking at a new way to interact with our customers. I wanted a more intensive customer service experience for our customers so we tried to find something new and we thought franchising would be the answer to that. Previously we employed and we were finding it difficult to get our employees to engage with our customers the same way we would as business owners. So, we decided to divide our business into two sectors, which was large commercial and domestic work.

Nine months ago, I commit some work with Brian in setting up our business franchise. Now when I actually took it on, I've pretty much decided that you know I don't even know if I want to franchise my business but I do know I want it to run like clockwork and so throughout the process it meant that you're reviewing out systems that we had in place and refining those and as part of that is that we actually became accredited to Australian Standard 9001. We were able to analyze exactly what the marketplace is doing. And so we determined that we had 56,000 (0:51- unclear) potential clients of which two thousand more add to each year. We then discovered if we only convert, only had contact with twenty thousand of those clients and only converted one percent of them and gained 200 clients for our own business, we would turn over a six million dollars a year. Now what we're doing suddenly seemed really achievable and that it has ultimately affected our business. And putting together the actual systems and franchise we actually discovered that just our franchise business in license fees alone in Perth is worth 1.5 billion dollars, should we get on that path. So in six months time, yes it has costs us about twenty thousand dollars and a lot of work, but we've basically found one and a half million dollars without selling another product so it's been great.

Don’t let the size of this book fool you. I know many authors and have authored a book myself. This great read is about the length that most business books start at. They are then filled with 160 pages of fluff so they look important on the book shelf. This book is just like its author Brian. There’s no fluff. It targets each point directly and doesn’t waste your time going around in circles like a lot of other business books out there. If you want to do yourself a favour. Read it twice and really absorb what Brian is explaining to you. ‘Exposing 10 myths of franchising?’ will open your eyes and show you how easy and affordable it can be to franchise your business. Before having the pleasure of working with Brian Keen I was very close to parting with almost ten times the money that Brian required to get my business franchised.
